Legal Services

Casa Marianella Immigration Legal Services (CMILS) serves residents of the Casa Marianella shelters and some community members living in poverty.  CMILS provides only immigration legal services–no other kinds of legal assistance.

About the Legal Clinic

CMILS serves clients from around the world as they navigate the often confusing and complicated U.S. immigration laws.  CMILS assists Casa Marianella residents and some community members in applying for work permits, web renewing green cards, more about seeking asylum, petitioning for family members, preparing applications for U Visas and T Visas, and more.  CMILS staff work closely with Casa Marianella staff as well as other immigration legal service providers to provide quality legal representation to immigrants, both newly arrived and those living below the poverty line.

Casa Marianella Immigration Legal Services is staffed by:

  • Elise Harriger—Attorney
  • Sarah Woelk—Attorney

To better serve its clients, CMILS is actively soliciting donations of office supplies, including:

  • copy paper
  • pens
  • tab dividers
  • file folders
  • gift cards to office-supply stores

If you can contribute any of these items, drop them off at Casa any day from 8am-8pm. Monetary donations are also appreciated. To make a monetary donation to CMILS, donate to Casa Marianella and indicate that your contribution is for the legal clinic.
